At Brightside Dental Studio we have nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, available as a mild sedative to use during your dental appointments. Nitrous oxide is frequently used to ease mild to moderate anxiety and can help to reduce pain. It is delivered using a small mask (hood) that fits over the nose and it is administered for the whole procedure to provide a calming effect.
At the end of the procedure, oxygen is administered to reverse the effects. Laughing gas is commonly used for younger patients, but is also available for use by anyone who requests it.
As a courtesy to you, brightside dental studio will continue to accept payment directly from your insurance company, where the following conditions are met:
1) all details and information concerning your dental plan are provided to us by you. It is your responsibility to notify us of any change in your insurance status as your employer/insurance provider does not communicate with the dental office.
2) when your claim is submitted to insurance for payment, you will be required to pay the portion which is not covered by your insurance company at the time of your appointment.
3) you provide us with a copy of your claim payment or preauthorization as required in order to process a secondary claim or to explain your benefits prior to treatment.
Payments for dental treatment can be made using visa, mastercard, interac, cash or personal cheque. Extended treatment time procedures, such as orthodontic services, will be billed monthly, over the course of treatment, with automatic credit card pre-authorizations. An appropriate contract for this specific payment method will be completed at the start of this treatment.
We understand that dental insurance is an important factor in supporting the cost of dental care. It is in your best interest, should questions arise, to discuss with your employer or plan administrator, the full extent of your benefits. We can help you with this if you have an insurance information booklet.
Unfortunately, for both the patient and the dentist, insurance companies do not provide us with the specifics of your plan regarding covered treatments , pre-authorizations, plan maximums or policy year ends. All replies from the insurance companies regarding information sent to them on your behalf will be sent back to you. We will not receive copies of anything so we request that you do not destroy any of it before we have seen it.
Your cooperation in this regard is much appreciated such that we can provide the services you have requested. Most insurance companies now use the “privacy act” to deny your dental provider of any information regarding the services you have received, or may be receiving in the future.
If you have government funded insurance ( indian affairs (dia), veterans affairs(dva), social welfare(extended family benefits), the eligible services are quite minimal. You will be advised as to those services you may be eligible to receive. Any services required or requested by the patient, that are not covered by the government, will be your responsibility to pay for at the time of your appointment.

Invisalign is the "invisible" way to straighten teeth without braces.
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth, without metal or wires.
Invisalign: Brace Alternative Benefits
Invisalign is clear. You can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
Invisalign is removable. Unlike braces, you can eat and drink what you want during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.
Invisalign is comfortable. There are no metal brackets or wires as with braces to cause mouth irritation, and no metal or wires means you spend less time in the doctor’s chair getting adjustments.
Invisalign allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan before you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
